Rationale: Using an custom made antibody, it is shown that RIM3gamma is present at the postsynapse. Although the antibody recognizes overexpressed as well as endogenous RIM3 gamma as shown in the paper. A knockout control is currently not available.. Experimental description: Procedures for immunoperoxidase (avidin-biotin- peroxidase method; Vector) and immunoelectron micros- copy have also been described previously (Liang et al., 2000; Zhang et al., 2005). Briefly, rat CNS histological sections were first incubated with anti-RIM3g (1:50, over- night) and then washed before another incubation with biotinylated goat anti-rabbit IgG (1:200, 1–1.5 hours). Fi- nally, the avidin-biotin-peroxidase complex was added to the sections (1:100).
