Rationale: The paper examines the localization of kappa-type opioid receptor in dopaminergic terminals at the nucleus Accumbens using electron microscopic immunocytochemistry. Fig. 4 shows a DAT-containing terminal in contact with kappa-type immunoreactive dendritic spines. The dendritic spine shows kappa-type opioid receptor labeling at the postsynaptic density and along extrasynaptic portions of the plasma membrane.
