Rationale: In subcellular fractionation experiments of rat brain, MacMARCKS was enriched in soluble fractions (S3 and LS2), but also present in most membrane fractions, and in comparison to MARCKS also in the SV fraction (CPG-3) (Fig.5). In isolated synaptosomes, phosphorylation of MARCKS by PKC in response to stimulation by phorbol esters or depolarization-induced Ca2+-influx, induces a translocation of MARCKS from the membrane to the cytosol (Fig.4). In NGF-differentiated PC12 cells, MacMARCKS colocalizes with the presynaptic marker Synaptophysin (Fig. 3). Antibody: Affinity purified polyclonal antiserum against murine MacMARCKs. No KO-control..
