Rationale: The taurine transporter is an integral membrane protein (see reference) and localizes in cultured striatal neurons to cell bodies and dendrites (co-localization with MAP2). Antibody: rabbit anti-taurine transporterserum Tau11-A (DPC Biermann, Bad Nauheim, Germany,1 : 500); No KO control. 21/8/2017 Pim - The synapse localization is in part evidenced by the effect of the TAUT KO on synapse physiology. This means that the dendritic localization is "postsynaptic". - Based on the known transmembrane topology of the protein, the "integral component of ... membrane" term was chosen.. Experimental description: Acutely isolated neurons were obtained from 6- to11-week-old TAUT knockout (KO, n = 11) and wild-type(WT, n = 10) mice, while primary cultures were madefrom newborn TAUT KO (n = 30) and WT (n = 27)mice.
